The two PIF files in this directory are to be used only if you are
having trouble getting Executor to start.

The PIF file "vgaonly" uses the "-vga" command line option to tell
Executor to use only standard VGA video modes. Without that switch,
Executor will try to use a 256 color 640x480 video mode that is an
extension to the standard VGA modes. Your video card should support
this mode, but some cards have broken video drivers which cause
Executor to hang when it requests this mode.

The PIF file "desperat" uses the "-desperate" command line option to
tell Executor to try to use as few features of your computer as
possible. It will pop up a window that tells you what it's doing so
that you can try to figure out exactly where the source of your
problem is. For instance, "-desperate" will tell you that it's using
"-nosound". If you have a non-standard sound-card it's conceivable
that you'll find that Executor will hang when it's doing its sound
card probing. By using "-nosound" you tell Executor to bypass the
sound probing (and to just assume your computer can't play sound).
