Windows 95 installation:

In Windows 95 you can install MicroCook two ways. Either as a shortcut icon on the desktop, or as an icon in an other folder.

As a desktop shortcut icon:
Click on the Start button. RIGHT click and then select Explore. In the left Explorer window find the folder where you installed MicroCook to (C:\MCOOK ??). Double click on the folder and look for MCOOK.EXE. If you don't see the EXE extension, select View, Options in the Explorer, and remove the check mark by "Hide MS-DOS extensions....". When you find it, single click on the name. On the bottom line of the Explorer window it now should read "1 object(s) selected", and the file size. This should be over 500KB. Now click and drag the MCOOK.EXE file to the desktop. There it will be displayed with the MSDOS icon, and the text "Shortcut to MicroCook". You can leave it as it is, or change both name and icon. To start this, RIGHT click on the MicroCook icon, and select Properties. To rename the icon, select Rename, and then edit the text below the icon. Click outside the icon when done. To change the icon, right click again, and this time select Properties. Click on the Program tab, and then the Change Icon button in the lower right corner. You can now select from the icons displayed, or use one of the 3 that's included with MicroCook. To use one of those, select Browse, then click on the Move up one Level button (right of "Look in" window) until you are in the root directory and can see the MicroCook folder. Double click on folder, and select on of the ICO files there. Click on OK. Now, click on the "Screen" tab, and under "Usage" be sure to set the dot on the Full screen. MicroCook can work in a window, but then you should set the font size to 10 x 18 under the Font tab in Properties. Otherwise the default font will be very small. But the screen updates will be a lot faster and smoother when MicroCook run in a full Window.

To install MicroCook as a part of an other menu group, click on the Start button, and select "Settings". Now move to and select "Taskbar", and click once. Select the "Start Menu Programs" tab, and then click on "Add", and then "Browse" - OR fill in the full name and path in the "Command line" window if you know it. If the directory where you installed MicroCook is called C:\MCOOK, type in: C:\MCOOK\MCOOK.EXE If you use "Browse", find the folder where MicroCook is, and double click on it. Then find the MCOOK.EXE icon and name, and double click on it. Back at the "Command line", click on "Next>", and when in "Program Folder", select in which folder you want to place MicroCook. You can also create a new folder here for MicroCook. Click on "Next>" when done. Now you can "Select Name for Shortcut". Click on "Finish" when done, and you are back in Windows 95.
