Super Workspace Version 1.1
---------------------------
(use word wrap to view this document properly)

Installation
------------
Run the setup.exe file and follow the instructions. You might find it useful to add the Super Workspace icon to the MapInfo menu on the start menu. To specify this during installation simply specify the program group as MapInfo or MapInfo\Super Workspace (if you want a sub menu).

How does Super Workspace work?
------------------------------

The program is designed for use with MapInfo workspaces. mapInfo users often needs to transfer workspaces from one machine to another. This can become particularly irritating because you need to copy all the files seperately, rebuild the workspace etc etc. Super Workspace allows you to select a workspace & create a Super Workspace from it, which is one file which contains your workspace plus all the files associated with it. This file is also compressed in order to minimize its size. This Super Workspace can then be transferred to another machine (where Super Workspace is installed) & the original workspace can then be extracted into a new directory with all its associated files. The workspace can then be opened from within MapInfo as usual. MapInfo integration is also provided (automatically opening Super Workspaces in MapInfo and saving Super Workspaces from MapInfo).

How to use Super Workspace
--------------------------

1. Opening a Super Workspace
When you run the app, the open Super Workspace tab is displayed. Select the Super Workspace to be opened (.swr extension files, try the example.swr included). Select the directory to extract the files to (if you want to create a new one simply type the path in the directory box). Click the [Open] button, and hey presto! the original workspace is extracted & installed.

2. Creating a Super Workspace
If you are not on the save tab, click the Save tab. Click the top [Browse...] button to select a workspace to be used to create the new Super Workspace file. Click the bottom browse button to select an output Super Workspace file (.swr). Click the [Save] button & the swr file
will be created (ready to be opened on another machine).

MapInfo Integration (Ver 4.0 or later)
--------------------------------------
To integrate Super Workspace with MapInfo:
1. open MapInfo
2. choose run MapBasic application (from the file menu in ver 4.0)
3. locate the installation directory of Super Workspace (default is
    c:\Program Files\SuperWorkspace\ - or search for SuperWOR.exe)
4. run the swr.mbx program in that directory
5. Super Workspace functionality will be added to the File menu
6. if you want permanent Super Workspace integration select the
About Super Workspace item and check the Auto-Load box & click [OK]
it will now load every time you run MapInfo

Version 1.1 Release Note
------------------------
This version fixes problems relating to long filenames and Super Workspace files. Unfortunately this means that version 1.1 Super Workspaces (*.swr files) are not compatable with previous of Super Workspace and vice versa. (Note that no previous version was commercially available.) Super Workspaces with long filenames should work properly in this release. To ensure the integrity of your data, ALWAYS test your newly created Super Workspaces by opening them with Super Workspace and MapInfo and checking that the workspace functions correctly.

About the Compression Technology in Super Workspace
---------------------------------------------------

The compression technology used by Super Workspace is based on Eric W. Engler's freeware
Delphi Zip, v1.40. Delphi Zip, v1.40 is in turn a derrivitive of Info-Zip's work on free zip
software. More information on Info-Zip can be found at:

Free source code for the used zip package (Delphi Zip, v1.40) can be obtained at any of these
