WELCOME!

   Ask yourself the following...

Have you ever wanted to know what programs were running
that weren't being displayed when you pressed CTRL-ALT-DEL?

Have you ever wanted to know which DLL's (or .OCX's or VBX's)
were loaded? And what versions of these were loaded?

Have you ever wanted to know which DLL's were being used by
      a particular program or process?

Have you ever suspected a virus? Bacteria?

WinProcess can help! (Except for the Bacteria part)

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

WinProcess is a 32-bit application designed for Windows95/98
that allows a user to see what programs, processes and modules
   are running.

It takes a 'snapshot' of the memory, and displays detailed
information about the top-level windows, processes, and modules,
such as File information, Version information, ID information,
Handle information, Usage Counts, Execution Threads, and more.

It also displays the relationships between top-level windows,
processes and modules, such as which modules were loaded by a
   specific process.

The graphical representation is a simple-to-navigate treeview and
   listview control.

The 'Save To File...' feature makes it possible to save 'snapshots'.

Multiple snapshots can be displayed in the same session making it
   possible to compare machine states.

INSTALLATION

NOTE! WinProcess requires the Visual Basic 5 run-time files to
work properly. For more information on these run-time files,
         see http://www.procreativesystems.com/runtime.htm, where
you can download the run-time package.

We build 2 versions of WinProcess - One package with the
run-time files, and one without. The normal filename for
the full package (the one WITH the runtime files) is:
WPROC10.ZIP. The normal filename for the run-time-LESS
         package is WPROC10X.ZIP.

If you have problems with your installation, you should
download the full package from our website at:
         http://www.procreativesystems.com/winprocess/download.htm

If you received this version as a .ZIP file (for example, WPROC10.ZIP),
extract the files to a directory using an Unzipping program such as
WinZip(tm); Activate Windows Explorer; Double-click SETUP.EXE in that
directory and follow the prompts.

If you received this version on disk, simply put disk 1 in; Activate
Windows Explorer; Run SETUP.EXE from that disk using Windows Explorer.

If you received this version of WinProcess in a self-extracting file
(for example, WPROC10.EXE), you can install it as follows:

Select Run from the Taskbar Start menu, type the full name of the file
(for example, C:\DNLOAD\WPROC10.EXE), press the Enter key, and follow
the prompts. Or, double-click that filename from Explorer.

The setup files will be extracted to the Windows Temporary directory
(For most systems, this is usually C:\WINDOWS\TEMP). Activate
Windows Explorer; Select that directory; Double-click SETUP.EXE in
that directory and follow the prompts.

RUNNING WINPROCESS FOR THE FIRST TIME

After installation has been completed, you should have a new program
group called 'WinProcess'. To run WinProcess, click on your 'Start'
button; select 'Programs'; and select 'WinProcess' from the
   WinProcess program group.
