NoLights version 1.0

NoLights is designed for those infuriating times when the 'lights' (that little computer
icon that sits in the tray and lights up when a Dial-Up Networking connection is in
progress) disappears and you are left with no way to disconnect your modem other than to
pull the plug. Why this happens is a mystery but it is most prevalent in Windows 95 and
even Windows 98 can exhibit this behaviour when auto-disconnect is disabled

Unzip NoLights.exe to a folder of your choice and create a shortcut to it. If you are
running Windows 98 or Windows 95 with the Internet Explorer 4.0 'Desktop Update' the
shortcut is best placed on the taskbar toolbar so it is handy. Otherwise place the
shortcut somewhere on your Start menu. Next time you lose the 'lights' simply run NoLights
and, if there is an active RAS (DUN) connection you will be able to disconnect from the
telephone line gracefully
