TANDY 3000 MEMORY EXPANSION

Memory expansion to 1 MB is supported on the Tandy 3000s which have the
gate array main logic board. This is accomplished by replacing the 64K
RAM at U43-60 with 256K RAM, and removing jumpers E7 and E8.

The SETUP program must be set to 512K Base memory and 512K Expansion
memory. It is not possible to use the 1 MB of RAM as 640K Base memory
and 384K Expansion memory.

Any software which uses Extended memory (e.g., VDISK.SYS) can be used
with the 512K of Extended memory. (Note: This is NOT Expanded memory
which is used with the Lotus/Intel EMS products.)

If the Memory Expansion Board (25-4030) is added to a system with 1 MB
of RAM on the system board, switch 8 of the memory board must be set to
ON and the RAMS in BANK 0 moved to BANK 1. This configuration change is
only necessary on the first memory expansion board.
