SYMPTOMS

If you are running Active Server Pages version 1.0b on 

Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) version 3.0, 

you may experience performance problems. It may take a long 

time for you to notice these performance problems, depending 

on how often the Active Server Pages are accessed. 



CAUSE 

=====

These performance problems are caused by a memory leak 

in Asp.dll. You can confirm this with Performance Monitor. 



RESOLUTION

A hotfix has been posted to the following Internet location.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Active Server Pages 

version 1.0b. A supported fix is now available, but has not been fully 

regression-tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this 

specific problem. Unless you are severely impacted by this specific problem, 

Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Service Pack that contains 

this fix. Contact Microsoft Technical Support for more information.
