HOW LONG WILL A PEN LAST?

Use SOLVE on the 95LX to enter the following equation:

weeks=SQRT(cost/2.618)

I derived this formula based on years of personal research on losing pens. As you can see, the formula is not linear, but appears to approach a practical limit on the amount of time that one can keep track of a pen.

I keep a box of a dozen Uni-Ball pens in a desk drawer. Each pen costs about 95 cents. Each pen lasts me a little over 4 days before it's lost and I have to take another from the box.

On the other hand, a $42 Cross pen will last at least a month. Please note: The above formula has been uploaded as SHAREWARE. If you find it useful, please register with the author. The registration fee is one Bic pen. This will allow me to continue to develop new formulas (for about 3 days).
