Y2K.EXE

WARNING!
This program will alter your system clock. If you have any software, that is time dependant, you
should make sure it is not in memory when you run this program.

It checks the main points in the BSI requirements DISC PD2000-1.

The program sets your system clock to 3 seconds before midnight 31 DEC 1999.
It waits 5 seconds.

Test #1:
The program checks your BIOS clock validity.

Test #2:The Program checks your Operating system clock validity.

Test #3:The program then sets your system clock to 29 Feb 2000, to check if it succeeds.
The year 2000 is a leap year.

Test #4:The program creates a temporary file (Y2K.DAT) and then checks the file date/time
returned by the operating system. This is to ensure that the file was created with,
and the operating system reports the correct date.
You may specify the location of this temporary file by adding it to the command line.
For example,
	y2k c:\temp

Test #5:The program checks 31 Dec 2000 (sanity check).

Test #6:The program waits 2 minutes, then checks the RTC to verify that it is accurate in the year 2000.

Lastly it resets your system clock to the starting date time plus the 126 seconds
it takes to run the test, then deletes the file it created.

A 32-bit version is available upon registration.

Y2KFIX.EXE

If your computer is NOT Y2K Compliant, then add this program to the start of your
AUTOEXEC.BAT file. When you boot your computer, if your system clock has rolled over,
this program will detect this, and fix the RTC and MSDOS clocks.
If you manually run this program after the rollover has occured (without
restarting the computer), it will also detect the incorrect dates and fix them.

NOTE:
These programs do not function correctly on Windows NT!
If your computer fails the test, nothing bad will happen. A Windows NT version of the Y2KFIX is currently unavailable.
If your computer was not compliant, then it would "not work as expected" after the year 2000.
Even if your computer is Y2K Compliant, your software may not be. Be sure to contact your vendor
concerning the compliance of their software.
