WinOne - Super Command Shell for Win32

Trouble Shooting Tips
---------------------

1. After entering my name and registration number, WinOne does NOT start?

Both the name and registration number sent to you are case sensitive. Entering
your name or registration number incorrectly, will result in WinOne just
terminating.

Re-run WinOne and re-enter both your name and registration, paying attention to
case sensitivity.

2. I have entered my name and registration number correctly and WinOne will
still not start?

This occurs when the automatic mapping of initialisation files (ie. .INI files)
to the system registry fails. As a result your name and registration number
will not be written to the system registry and there by, leaving WinOne in an
unregistered state. It is possible that a WIN_ONE.INI file was created in your
Windows directory. This file is not needed and can be deleted.

Reboot Windows NT and re-enter your name and registration number. Rebooting
will in effect reset the System Registry.

3. When I start WinOne the buttons that I created are not being displayed the
next time I run WinOne?

Again, this is a system registry problem. WinOne maps all it initialisation
information to the system registry. This mapping is performed automatically
by Windows NT and is mapped to :-

	HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\WinOne

This key will contain many other sub-keys, including your Buttons sub-key.
Reboot Windows NT and create an empty Buttons sub-key when it does not exist.

4. When I run an external command, it displays the message "This program
requires WinOne to run"?

External commands are programs written to specifically use the main WinOne
window for its input and output, using the WOIO package supplied with WinOne.
Check to ensure that the external command has a file extension of .EXC and not
.EXE, which is the case for 16 bit external commands. WinOne for Windows NT
will not run 16 bit external commands. Contact the author to get a 32 bit
version of the external command.

5. I run a program and another (unexpected program) runs, that has the same
file name?

Depending on which program WinOne is run from, it inherits the PATH environment
variable from that program. Check your PATH environment variable or use the
WHICH internal WinOne command to determine the actual program that is being
run.

6. WinOne refuses to start. I launch WinOne, the cursor changes to the busy
cursor, then nothing happens?

Reboot Windows NT and re-run WinOne.

7. When I use 'DIR *' under Win32s it displays only directory names?

This is a bug in Win32s version 1.25 or eailer. Install Win32s version 1.30.

8. I keep getting the error message 'Out of Environment Space' under Win32s?

This is a bug in Win32s version 1.25 or eailer. Install Win32s version 1.30.

9. When I run WinOne on Win32s it does not recognise my CD-ROM drive?

This is a bug in Win32s version 1.2 or earlier. Install Win32s version 1.30,
which at the time of this release can be downloaded from MicroSoft :-

	Site: ftp.microsoft.com
	Path: /Softlib/MSLFILES
	File: pw1118.exe

Note: Win32s is NOT supplied with WinOne.
