Alarm Clock Version History:

2.12 (June 2000)

Fixed a bug in the countdown timer that prevented the sound from being stopped at all if the option "Play sound until I close the alarm dialog" was selected.

2.11 (January 2000)

Fixed a bug in the display of the countdown timer

2.1 (January 2000)

Added a single countdown alarm for registered users. Did further work on
the interface to ensure that alarm windows would always come to the top of
the stack.

Revised the Help File.

2.00 (December 1998)

Added a "custom sound" facility for alarms.
Added the facility to run programs as well as pop up alarm dialogs, and
the option to verify (on entry) that the run command is valid.

Thoroughly overhauled the program's interface and alarm checking
routines.

Added more obvious animation to the alarm icon while the alarm dialog is
displayed, so that the user can see an alarm more easily if they did not
hear the sound.

Tidied up the displays. Removed the close box from the alarm dialog so
that it is no longer possible to close this without calling the Snooze or
Done routine. Added shortcut keys to delete and edit alarms in the alarm
window. Added a switch to the options dialog to turn on prompting before
deleting records.

Provided a few new sample sounds.

Rewrote the Help file.

1.08 (February 1998) added the facility for annual alarms, and a backup
and restore capability to enable data deleted accidentally to be restored.
The checking of the alarm list on program startup was extended to include
any alarms that should have sounded earlier in the day, while the program
was not running.

1.07 (November 97) corrected a logic error affecting monthly alarms.
Allowed more space in the alarm dialog for dates.

1.06 (July 97) fixed a problem which preventing the user from setting a
one-off alarm for a time earlier in the day than the current time.

1.05 fixed a problem with the startup shortcut when installing the
program in a directory with a long file name.

1.04 removed the error message the user would get if clicking on
'Delete' while on the alarm list column headers. From this version,
snooze status was given in the alarm status dialog. A minor change
was also made to the error reporting in the install program.

1.03 fixed some inconsistencies with the enabling and disabling of
spin controls in the Add dialog. This was also the first version which
gave 20 alarms in the registered program and 5 until registered: the
program file was brought into line with the instructions in this respect.

1.02 was the first version released on public archives.

1.00 and 1.01 were pre-release versions given to a small number of
people for testing. The animated icon while an alarm dialog is
showing and the facility for 'persistent alarms' were both
introduced in version 1.01.
