Y'all are going to love this. I have been having a heck of a time
getting DOSCIM to run on my Tandy 1000 with two 720k floppy
drives.
I have DOSCIM installed on one 720k floppy. I looked through the
installation instructions and found that it installs to a
subdirectory when it is installed on a hard drive (e.g.
c:\cserve). I know that some programs like to be installed on a
specific sub-directory (like Sierra games) to work properly. I
then ran the program several times and it ran fine every time. I
then found out that I had forgotten about Sidekick being loaded
and resident. I then removed it and tried again. No dice. I got a
clue from this and used ZIFF PC Mag utilities install.com and
remove.com in a batch file like this:

@echo off
install
install
cd\cserve
cim
cd\
enter
remove > nul
enter
remove > nul

The net effect of running install twice (which puts two markers
in memory) seems to be to space DOSCIM away from areas of memory
that it wants to overwrite. So far so good. Someone on this forum
told me that DOSCIM ver 1.36 wouldn't run on a Tandy 1000 because
it uses memory in a strange way. Y'all might tell them to get the
PC Magazine utilities and try something like what I have tried.
It seems to have worked.

                         Thanks,

                         Martin
