Brian:

I had the Adaptec 1522A on my old Tandy 3000HL while it was
still a '286 without any problems, and have since transferred
all that SCSI Hdwre to an Intel 302 that I'm currently upgrading.
I've also added the external Syquest EZDrive to the same card
without a problem.
Im an old regular on this forum and frequently interfaced
with a Frank Ho with a similar highly modified 3000HL, but have
had an extensive absence here 'cause I unloaded the Tandy a few
years ago.
I can't logically justify an absolute need for the '386
chip on the SCSI based Iomega, so I'd give it a shot with the
older chip, remember that the SCSI card has it's own BIOS
independant of your motherboard BIOS. If it doesn't work, '386
upgrades are cheap at computer shows, and actually I still have
mine with the coprocessor that was stripped out of the Tandy that
I'm not doin' anything with.
I like the Intel dinosaur much more, It's a lot more
upgrade friendly with 8 expansion slots, 5 drive bays, and a
muffin fan dedicated for the expansion cards, a 220 watt power
supp. and has a much higher quality chassis.
So I dumped the Tandy dinosaur.

Best:
Lou C.
