TANDY 4000 -- INSTALLING PROFILE 286 ON SCO XENIX 386

When installing Profile 286 (25-4212) in a Tandy 4000 (25-5000) running
SCO XENIX 386 (90-1502), the following preliminaries are suggested:

To install Profile 286 in the Tandy 4000 using the 3.5" disk:

1.  Login as root.

2.  Insert Vol. 1 of the Profile 286 install disk in Drive A.

3.  At the root prompt, type:

/etc/mount /dev/fd0135ds9 /mnt <ENTER>
/mnt/install <ENTER>

4.  Follow the instructions as they appear on the screen.

5.  When the installation is complete, type:

/etc/umount /dev/fd0134ds9 <ENTER>


To install Profile 286 in the Tandy 4000 using the 5.25" (High Capacity)
disk in Drive A:

1.  Login as root.

2.  Insert Vol. 1 of the Profile 286 install disk in Drive A.

3.  At the root prompt, type:

/etc/mount /dev/fd096ds15 /mnt <ENTER>
/mnt/install <ENTER>

4.  Follow the instructions as they appear on the screen.

5.  When the installation is complete, type:

/etc/umount /dev/fd096ds15 <ENTER>


To install Profile 286 in the Tandy 4000 using the 5.25" (High Capacity)
disk in Drive B:

1.  Login as root.

2.  Insert Vol. 1 of the Profile 286 install disks in Drive B.

3.  At the root prompt, type:  /etc/mount /dev/fd196ds15 /mnt <ENTER>

4.  Using vi or ed, edit the /mnt/install script on the Profile 286
install disk.  Find the line that says "/dev/fd096*)" and change it
to "/dev/fd196*)".  Also, change the other two cases which refer to
"/dev/fd048*" and "/dev/fd0*" to "/dev/fd148*" and "/dev/fd1*",
respectively.

5.  At the root prompt, type:  /mnt/install <ENTER>

6.  Follow the instructions as they appear on the screen.

7.  When the installation is complete, type:

/etc/umount /dev/fd196ds15 <ENTER>
