(Includes MS-DOS CD-ROM Extensions Version 2.2)

This driver enables the user to use the CDR-1500 CD-ROM Drive with
an IBM PC, XT, AT, or compatible computer.

This disk contains the following files--

   HITACHIA.SYS  HITACHIB.SYS  MSCDEX.EXE
   SETUP.EXE     README.DOC    CDMENU.EXE
   CDMGR.EXE     CDPLAY.BAT    README.TXT

In order to obtain a printout of this README.TXT file, insert this
disk in Drive A, make sure your printer is switched on, is on line,
and at the C:\> prompt, type the following command--

   PRINT A:README.TXT

and press <Enter>.


Additional information on this CD-ROM Drive Device Driver is included
in the README.DOC file on this disk. In order to obtain a printout of
this README.DOC file, insert this disk in Drive A, make sure your printer
is switched on, is on line, and at the C:\> prompt, type the following
command--

   PRINT A:README.DOC

and press <Enter>.



INSTALLATION

1.  Start up your computer. Make sure that the C:\> prompt is displayed  
    on the screen.

2.  Insert this disk in Drive A.

3.  Type

       A:

    and press <Enter>. The A:\> prompt should be displayed on the screen.

4.  Type

       setup

    and press <Enter>. 

5.  There are two device drivers called HITACHIA.SYS and HITACHIB.SYS
    on this disk. HITACHIA.SYS is for IBM PC, XT, AT, PS/2, Model 25, 
    Model 30 and compatible computers. HITACHIB.SYS is for IBM PS/2,
    Model 50/55/60/70/80 and compatible computers. Depending upon the
    computer in which the drive is being installed, select either
    HITACHIA.SYS or HITACHIB.SYS drivers at the prompt to do so.

6.  At the prompt to select the number of drives, press <Enter>. By
    pressing <Enter>, one drive is selected, although upto eight drives 
    can be supported.

7.  At the prompt to set the I/O address, press <Enter>. By pressing
    <Enter>, an address of 300 is selected. If this address is being 
    used by another device on your system, an address other than 300 
    can be input from the following list of addresses:

       200, 220, 240, 260, 320, 340, 360

8.  At the prompt to enter the directory where the CD-ROM device driver
    is to be installed, press <Enter>. The device driver (HITACHIA.SYS 
    or HITACHIB.SYS) will be installed in the directory C:\DEV.

9.  At the prompt to enter the directory where MSCDEX.EXE is to be
    installed, press <Enter>. The CD-ROM Extensions program will be
    installed in the directory C:\BIN.
    
10. Press <Enter> at the prompts to do so. The CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT
    files on your system are updated at this point.

11. Remove this disk from the drive and reboot your computer.
